As a leading Local Economic Development (LED) Organization, AKISDA partner with Government, Business Community and the people of our state to develop strategic visions for the future of our towns and villages, and implement a wide variety of policies and measures to bring these visions to life.

Technology Based LED Service

Investing in both hard and soft infrastructure to provide support service as useful tools to strengthen and reinforce the local economic capability, including human resource development and increase the productivity and competitiveness of local businesses, entrepreneurs and workers. - Work with Local Government and communities to collect and analyse data to determine appropriate strategies and activities. - Decide on a strategic focus basedon the data analysis which include a combination a combination of strategies such as: i. Business Development (business support service, social enterprise investment) ii. Local environment development ( beautification, industrial parks) iii. Sector development ( supply chain gap)

Education & Research

- Civic behaviour education - Information technology/computer institute - Mentoring students and nonemployed indigenes by providing on SMEs digital economy - Disinfectants and sanitary items production - Sales and tax policies - Research on statistical information about Akwa Ibom State - Research on current and effective data that will have a direct impact on planning, implementation of local economic development initiatives Our research work may include: - Human, business and natural resources inventory - Labour and market trends - Government programs and services - Local Government Area profile of demographic data, analysis of the local economy and community information

Business Development

AKISDA can play a very active role to assist new and expanding businesses, promote people's owned enterprise and facilities. This can be achieved through training and mentorship, financial support through cooperative principles and local business development board (LBDB). Example include: - Assist entrepreneurs with the development of online business exposition networking to promote patronage among Akwa Ibom entrepreneurs - Assist entrepreneurs to find other sources of support -ex: State and Federal programs - Promote locally made products and develop a local business alliance ( ex: businesses that work together to form a local marketing groups and delivery systems) -Develop and implement a business attraction strategy for local economic development board (LBDB) - Act as a liaison between local economic development board and various level of government, industry, financial institutions, manufacturers and Akwa Ibom communities world wide to create employment - Act as a liaison between prospective new business people and multinational organisations to advice them to involve in local economic development and the support available - Work with Local Government and communities to collect and analyse data to determine appropriate strategies and activities. - Decide on a strategic focus basedon the data analysis which include a combination a combination of strategies such as: i. Promotion/Marketing

Our goals is to be highly visible in every community. This helps to promote the work and achievements of the organisation and encourage growth and competitiveness . Consultations, community visioning and action planning are part of our promotion/marketing program. AKISDA offers a wide range of tools, which include print and electronic media: For example: - Official website include people, environment, tourist centres, economic climate, advertising and successes - Social networking such as Facebook and Twitter - Tourism and industrial development brochures and advertising - Newsletters, graasroot media documentary, etc to identify timely events and provide awareness in the community about the economic development organisation's role and impacts - Community representation at trade shows and related economic development conferences

Prospecting

AKISDA mobilise Akwa Ibom professionals and leaders that can help to prospect for new business, investment and resources (ex:- funding programs, developers, etc) with research, promotion and personal contacts. They can gather information to find potential new opportunities for the people by: - Networking at state or national conferences or business summits - Research business and government policies - Organise local tours and promote community festival - Organise and host AKISDA delegate conference
